İnternetteki Türkçe kaynakları araştırdım fakat elle tutulur bir şey bulamadım. Bununla ilgili yaptığım araştırmaları sizlerle paylaşmak istiyorum.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/font&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial"&gt;&lt;font face="Tahoma,Helvetica,Sans-Serif" color="#000000"&gt;Primary key ve Foreign key kavramlarını bildiğinizi varsayarak surrogate key kavramından söz edeceğim. &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;font face="Tahoma,Helvetica,Sans-Serif"&gt;&lt;span style="color:black;font-family:Arial"&gt;Veritabanı tasarımı yaparken, vermemiz gereken kararlardan biri de tablolarımız içinde anahtarların benzersiz (unique) olmasını sağlamak için primary key belirlemektir. Primary key, tek bir kolondan oluşabileceği gibi birkaç kolonun bir araya getirilmesiyle de oluşturulabilir.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/font&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;font face="Tahoma,Helvetica,Sans-Serif"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial"&gt;&lt;font color="#000000"&gt;Tablo içerisinde ekstra veri kullanmadan kayıtları tanımlamak istiyorsak, yapacağımız iş, birden fazla özelliği (attribute) birleştirerek candidate key belirlemektir. Bir tabloda birden fazla candidate key bulunabilir. Bir ya da birden fazla candidate key birleşerek primary key’i oluşturabilir.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/font&gt;

Aynı şekilde Tedarikçi kolonunu candidate key olarak belirleyemeyiz çünkü A Firması değeri Tedarikçi kolonu içerisinde tekrar eden bir değerdir. Ürün kolonu, Tedarikçi kolonu ve Geliş Zamanı kolonlarının birleşimini candidate key olarak belirleyebiliriz.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/font&gt;

Fakat bu yöntem daha karmaşık bir yapıyı karşımıza sunar. Bizler işleri olabildiğince basitleştirme şeklini seçmeliyiz.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/font&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;font face="Tahoma,Helvetica,Sans-Serif"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial"&gt;&lt;font color="#000000"&gt;Yukarıda üç kolonun birleşiminden oluşan candidate key’i primary key olarak belirlemiştik ve bunun bize karmaşık bir yapı sunduğu üzerinde durmuştuk. Bunun yerine, tablo yapısına ekstradan bir kolon (attribute)&lt;span&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;ekleyip, eklediğimiz kolonu surrogate key olarak belirlememiz bizim için çözüm olabilir. Surrogate key, primary key’in yerini tutabilir ve primary key gibi davranabilir. Böylelikle surrogate key olarak belirlediğimiz kolonu primary key olarak ta belirleyebiliriz.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/font&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;font face="Tahoma,Helvetica,Sans-Serif"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial"&gt;&lt;font color="#000000"&gt;Aşağıdaki tabloya tam sayı tipinde veri tutabilen ve otomatik olarak artabilen bir ID kolonu ekledim. Bakıyoruz ki ID kolonu her kayıt için ayırt edici bir değer olmakla birlikte, tekrar etme olasılığı çok düşüktür. Bu kolon üzerinde Unique Contstraint tanımlayacak olursak, tekrar etme olasılığını ortadan kaldırmış oluruz. Böylelikle ID kolonunu surrogate key olarak belirleyebiliriz. ID kolonu primary key davranışlarına uygun hareket ettiği için, onu primary key olarak belirlemek iyi olacaktır.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/font&gt;

Ben de IT alanında değil de, business tarafında uzmanlaşmış olsam, herhalde böyle biri olurdum. Size tavsiyem: Başınızda böyle bela bir tip varsa, ondan kurtulun. Yani bela kısmından. Onunla arkadaş olun, aynı dili konuşmaya çalışın. Kendinizi anlatın, onu dinleyin. Müttefik olarak size çok daha faydalı olacaktır. Beraber şirket için bir data warehouse projesi bile geliştirebilirsiniz.
